Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical/Surgical Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in Idaho Falls, ID. This role involves providing high-quality care in a Medical/Surgical unit with an emphasis on patient safety and effective communication. Unit Information • Number of Beds: 39 • Staffing: 60 total staff members, including: • Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 7 RNs, 3 CNAs, 1 UAP • Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 6 RNs, 2 CNAs • Patient Ratios: 1:5 during the day shift, 1:6 at night • Equipment: Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis, Arjo lifts, Novastat, and computers in every room • EMR: Meditech Key Responsibilities • Deliver safe and effective nursing care to patients in the Medical/Surgical unit. • Maintain medication safety standards, ensuring a minimum of 98% of all medications are safely scanned and administered. • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to provide high-quality care. • Manage time efficiently to meet patient care needs promptly. Qualifications • Required: • Current RN License • BLS certification • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience • Exceptional communication skills • Strong time management abilities • Preferred: • Chemotherapy certification • Flexibility to work both day and night shifts Personality Fit A friendly and team-oriented individual who is able to build meaningful connections with patients and colleagues is essential for this role. Floating Areas Willingness to float to Surgical/Orthopedic and Rehabilitation units as needed. Dress Code Standard scrub attire in navy blue is required. Weekend and On-Call Requirements This position requires working two weekends a month. On-call duty may be necessary during times of low patient volume.
