The required shift for this role is nights (7 PM – 7 AM) with a guaranteed 44 hours per week. Weekend coverage is necessary, requiring 4-6 weekend days every 6 weeks.
Key Responsibilities
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, implementing necessary interventions.
• Administer medications and titrate intravenous drips as ordered.
• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members, providing updates on patient status and progress.
• Perform critical care procedures including hemodynamic monitoring, managing ventilators, and handling various drains and chest tubes.
• Support patient care technicians and provide necessary guidance and support.

• Required certifications include ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
• Experience with early recognition of patient condition changes and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to clearly communicate and escalate issues to healthcare providers.
• Comfortable with advanced medical equipment such as CRRT and ventilators.
Work Environment
The unit encompasses a high-level trauma setting, and RNs are required to adapt to varying patient acuity levels. Attendance and flexibility are crucial, as self-scheduling is not available, and staff may be asked to adjust schedules based on unit needs.
Dress Code
Scrub colors are teal bottoms with black or printed coordinating tops. Professional appearance is expected, including no acrylic or shellac nails and chipped polish.
Additional Information

• Intermittent support from nursing aids/patient care technicians, dependent on patient census.
