Full description
Litigation Attorney
Career Consulting Partners is working with an established boutique plaintiff-side personal injury litigation firm based in Westside Village, Los Angeles, to find a skilled Personal Injury Litigation Attorney. Representing injured accident victims across California since 2009, the firm is guided by an experienced leadership team bringing more than 40 years of combined experience holding major insurance carriers accountable.
Position Overview
This is an autonomous litigation role managing an active docket of 30 to 40 litigated personal injury matters. Designed for an attorney who thrives with direct ownership, the firm's partners do not micromanage day-to-day operations—entrusting you to formulate litigation strategy, determine case valuations, and drive negotiations independently without navigating bureaucratic approval layers.
The firm moves cases out of litigation on its own terms: approximately five matters proceed to trial annually, with the remainder resolved favorably through aggressive case workup, mediation, and direct settlement negotiation. No business origination or marketing is required; the firm provides a consistent, robust case pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
•
Independently manage and litigate a caseload of 30–40 personal injury files in California state courts from initial filing through resolution.
•
Draft, review, and argue substantive pleadings, discovery, law and motion, mediation briefs, and trial submissions.
•
Take and defend depositions involving plaintiffs, defendants, treating physicians, expert witnesses, and corporate representatives.
•
Set and direct written discovery and litigation workup strategy, supported by a dedicated team that handles records retrieval, calendaring, and discovery production.
•
Thoroughly develop damages models, assess case value, and negotiate directly with insurance adjusters and defense counsel.
•
Represent clients in court appearances, arbitrations, mandatory settlement conferences (MSCs), mediations, and trials.
•
Maintain clear, regular communication with clients throughout all stages of medical treatment and litigation.
Qualifications & Requirements
•
Active license in good standing with the State Bar of California.
•
Substantial plaintiff-side personal injury litigation experience, including independent deposition handling and substantive law and motion work.
•
Prior trial experience is strongly preferred.
•
Proven ability to independently carry a full litigation caseload and resolve matters without close supervision.
•
Sound, strategic judgment regarding liability, case valuation, and settlement posture.
•
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on delivering attentive client care.
•
Must reside in California and be able to work on-site at the Westside Village office three days per week.
Compensation & Benefits
•
Base Salary Range: $200,000 – $300,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
•
Substantial bonus incentives paid upon case resolution (specific structure reviewed during interviews).
•
Comprehensive Health, Dental, and Vision insurance coverage.
•
401(k) plan.
•
Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) and paid firm holidays.
Location:
•
Westside Village, Los Angeles, CA
•
3 days onsite / 2 days remote per week (onsite days are structured and consistent each week; partners are in the office full-time and readily available as collaborative sounding boards).
