Job Overview: Summary Drives truck with capacity to transport materials to and from specified destinations, by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Drives truck to destination. • Does daily visual inspections & weekly written inspections • Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions. • Loads and unloads truck. • Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water & makes repairs as needed. • Performs emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing light bulbs and tire chains. • Operates equipment when approved by supervisor • Positions blocks and ties rope around items to secure cargo during transit. • Makes sure all necessary documents are current in truck i.e. registration, inspection & insurance cards • Assist crews as needed while on job site • Prepares trucks, materials for job • Keep trucks & equipment clean • Hand digging and related jobs that require physical labor • Manual labor- is able to handle heat & cold temp • Responsible to assist w/emergencies Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
