General Manager, Cold Storage Warehouse Startup Location: Los Angeles, CA (Southeast Los Angeles area) Job Type: Full-time Pay: $160,000 to $175,000 per year, plus bonus Launch and lead a brand-new, high-density cold storage facility opening in spring 2027, building the team, processes, and culture from day one. Must-Haves • 7 to 10+ years of warehouse, distribution, logistics, or cold storage operations experience • Experience leading managers and hourly teams • Strong refrigerated or frozen warehouse experience, including inventory control, safety, and labor and KPI management • Working knowledge of WMS, material handling equipment, and performance reporting • Visible, hands-on leadership style with a talent for building teams and processes What You’ll Do • Own startup readiness and launch, including planning, staffing, training, and workflows • Hire, coach, and develop managers, supervisors, and warehouse staff • Build SOPs, operating rhythms, and accountability measures from the ground up • Lead receiving, putaway, storage, picking, and shipping while protecting cold chain integrity • Oversee VNA operations, including rail-guided turret trucks and high-density racking • Drive results in safety, inventory accuracy, throughput, and labor productivity • Coordinate import and export shipments and customer-specific requirements • Partner with maintenance, HR, transportation, and regional leadership Nice-to-Haves • Experience opening or scaling a warehouse or DC • VNA or turret truck experience • Blast freezing, tempering, or import/export experience • Southern California logistics knowledge • Bilingual English/Spanish Compensation and Benefits • $160,000 to $175,000 per year, based on experience • Bonus opportunity About the Company Our client is building a new frozen and refrigerated storage facility in Southeast Los Angeles offering blast freezing, tempering, case picking, and import/export support.
