Manager – Insurance Accounting Overview • The Manager – Insurance Accounting oversees accounting operations for specialty risk entities, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and regulatory standards. • Collaborate with teams to enhance workflow integration, efficiencies, and proactive problem-solving initiatives. • Lead the preparation of GAAP financial statements and regulatory filings for multiple entities. • Analyze financial data and performance metrics to align with organizational goals and strategies. • Provide leadership and accountability to ensure smooth operations and quality output. • Support corporate teams with ad hoc responsibilities, including system implementations and business integration projects. • Maintain detailed accounting records and controls, ensuring accurate journal entries and account reconciliations. • Foster a diverse and inclusive culture that values employee perspectives and promotes excellence. Manager – Insurance Accounting Key Responsibilities & Duties • Manage routine financial close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial package preparation. • Oversee the preparation and completion of annual GAAP financial statements filed with regulatory bodies. • Perform quarterly balance sheet and cash reconciliations, investigating unusual items. • Ensure accurate recording and reconciliation of intercompany activities, resolving discrepancies effectively. • Conduct analysis of financial data to develop actionable plans aligned with company objectives. • Lead special projects, including system implementations, business integrations, and internal control enhancements. • Provide guidance and accountability to teams, ensuring efficient operations and adherence to standards. • Support corporate teams with financial reporting and ad hoc analyses as needed. Manager – Insurance Accounting Job Requirements • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; CPA certification preferred. • Minimum of 4 years of experience, with 6 years preferred. • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. • Experience with ERP software such as Oracle and Hyperion (HFM or FCCS). • Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work independently. • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. • Preferred experience in public accounting and insurance operations.
