Job Title: Part-Time House Manager Location: Houston, TX 77018 Employment Type: Part-time, 12-16 hours per week Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 3:30 PM - 7:00 PM, with some schedule flexibility. Occasional availability for date nights. Friday availability is flexible. Compensation: $25-$30 per hour, commensurate with experience Start Date: December 2026 Requirements • Must be authorized to work in the United States. • Able to maintain a smoke-free environment. • Reliable transportation. • Willingness to maintain a fragrance-free environment and refrain from wearing scented products while on duty. • Comfortable adhering to the family’s shoes-off policy while inside the home. • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. • Strong verbal and written English communication skills. About Our Family We are a busy family of four with two young children and a friendly six-year-old pup. With full schedules and plenty of moving parts, we value a clean, organized, and well-maintained home that allows us to focus on what matters most: spending quality time together as a family. We appreciate straightforward communication, consistency, and a practical, no-fuss approach to getting things done. As Mom prepares to return to work in the new year, we're looking for a dependable, proactive Family Assistant who can take ownership of daily household responsibilities, anticipate needs, and help keep things running smoothly. Our desire is to come home to a tidy, welcoming space and a prepared meal, allowing us to enjoy evenings and weekends together rather than catching up on household tasks. Who You Are / What We're Looking For The ideal candidate will: • Keep the household running smoothly with warmth, efficiency, and minimal direction or check-ins. • Enjoy cooking wholesome, home-style meals and follow recipes with confidence. • Take pride in a well-organized kitchen, neatly folded laundry, and a home-cooked meal on the table by 6:00 PM. • Work independently and comfortably in the background. • Take ownership of tasks, return items to their proper places, and leave spaces better than you found them. • Demonstrate reliability, trustworthiness, and professionalism while respecting the family's personal space. • Engage young children with a sweet-natured, energetic approach when needed. • Wear neat, practical attire appropriate for cooking and household work, and maintain a respectful, approachable demeanor, understanding the importance of professionalism in a private household setting. • Communicate clearly, directly, and professionally, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt to the family's straightforward, no-fuss communication style. Key Responsibilities Meal Support • Cook simple and healthy meals Monday through Thursday. Dinners will need to be ready by 6:00 PM each evening. • Prepare weekly lunches for both adults (using dinner leftovers or a separate meal prep). • Prepare and pack baby’s solid foods for daycare as needed. • Follow a weekly menu provided by the family, with the opportunity to take on more ownership as trust builds. • Thoroughly clean the kitchen and dishes after dinner. Household Organization & Maintenance • Perform daily resets: dishes, surface tidying, sweeping and vacuuming high-traffic areas. • Every other Wednesday, prepare the home for the Thursday cleaning service. • Maintain and support existing household organization systems; suggestions for improvement are welcome. • Occasional assistance with travel unpacking, and event or guest prep as needed. • As-needed tasks such as changing batteries in household devices or light bulbs. • Change air purifier filters throughout the home on a regular schedule. • Occasional sweeping of the outdoor patio area. Laundry & Linens • Wash, fold, and put away all household laundry on a regular basis. • Steam garments as needed. • Rotate linens on weeks when the cleaning service is not scheduled. • Keep the laundry area tidy and well-stocked. Deep Cleaning & Special Projects • Occasional deep cleans of the refrigerator, baseboards, grout, and similar areas not covered by the regular cleaning service. • Occasional pantry, closet, cabinet and toy organization. Inventory & Errands • Assist with returns as needed. • Additional inventory and errand support may be introduced as the relationship develops. Family Support • Open to providing backup childcare coverage when daycare is unexpectedly closed or unavailable. • Available for occasional evening date night coverage. How to Apply Please submit: • A cover letter • Your updated resume • Contact information for 3 professional references This role requires a background check. When you apply with Sage Haus, you'll also be added to our candidate community email list so we can share hiring updates, resources, and opportunities. Don't worry — you can unsubscribe at any time if it's not for you.
