Medical Surgical Nurse Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Medical Surgical Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in medical/surgical nursing and demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality patient care. Key Responsibilities • Provide compassionate care to medical and post-operative surgical patients. • Administer medications and monitor patient responses. • Coordinate with team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes. • Participate in patient education and discharge planning. • Float to other Medical Surgical units and tele departments as needed. • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards within the unit. Shift Information • Shift Length: 12 hours • Schedule: 36 hours per week, including every other weekend • Shift Times: 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM Unit Details • Unit Type: Medical Surgical • Total Beds: 30 • Patient Ratios: 1 nurse to 5 patients • Nurse Aides: 2 on days and 1 on nights Qualifications • Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical/surgical nursing required. • Prior travel nursing experience is essential. • Current BLS certification is required. • COVID-19 vaccination must be documented. Additional Information • Floating to telemetry units with a 1:4 ratio may be necessary. • Hospitalist available 24/7 on site. • Orientation will include 1 shift on the unit. • Must be able to read and interpret telemetry; a dysrhythmia exam is required. • Holiday RTO will be considered, but not guaranteed. • Scrub Color: Navy • Work duty involves rotating through permanent staff for holiday shifts.
