Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for a Position Care Unit (PCU). This is a fast-paced environment that requires exceptional patient care skills and a focus on teamwork. Unit Information • Unit Type: Stepdown • Number of Beds: 22 • Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:4 Common Diagnoses • Heart failure • Atrial fibrillation (Afib) • Respiratory distress • Stroke Duties and Responsibilities • Titrate drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Nitro. • Read and interpret telemetry strips independently. • Work collaboratively with a charge nurse who maintains a patient assignment. • Assist with the management of respiratory equipment such as CPAP. • Support patient care techs, with a ratio of 1:10. • Float to ICU if appropriate and as per experience. Shift Information • Shift Length: 12 hours • Shift Type: Nights • Scheduling: Cyclic scheduling, with options for self-scheduling. Weekend requirements include every other weekend. • Holiday Requirements: 1 major and 1 minor holiday. Qualifications • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a clinical setting. • Required Certifications: • ACLS • BLS Certification • NIHSS • Additional Notes: Must adhere to fingernail policy; artificial nails are prohibited.
