You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and fabrication teams to ensure designs are accurate, constructible, and aligned with project requirements. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong Tekla Structures skills and a solid understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection. Key Responsibilities • Review and interpret architectural, structural, and related construction drawings. • Develop detailed shop drawings and submittals for structural and miscellaneous steel using Tekla Structures. • Calculate dimensions, elevations, layouts, and construction tolerances to ensure drawing accuracy. • Identify drawing discrepancies and coordinate resolutions with project managers, engineers, and other project stakeholders. • Collaborate with fabrication and project teams to ensure drawings meet design specifications and shop requirements. • Monitor detailing schedules, communicate progress, and help keep projects on track. • Maintain high standards for drawing quality, accuracy, and completeness throughout the detailing process. Qualifications • Associate degree required. • At least 5 years of structural steel detailing or related construction experience. • Proficiency in Tekla Structures required; AutoCAD experience is a plus. • Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication, erection, and construction practices. • Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings. • Understanding of drawing scales, sections, elevations, dimensions, and construction tolerances. • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines. Physical Requirements • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods. • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. • Ability to travel to project sites as needed and safely navigate construction environments.
