The Mission As a Collector, you'll help credit unions resolve delinquent loans while staying fully aligned with applicable laws, policies, and procedures. This role exists to protect member relationships, recover balances responsibly, and keep account activity documented and compliant. Key responsibilities include making professional outbound/inbound contacts, negotiating payment arrangements with sound judgment, and maintaining accurate, timely notes and follow-ups. You'll also perform skip-tracing when needed, support repossession and bankruptcy activity, and follow established correspondence standards. Within 12 months, you'll work toward Certified Collectors status and complete ongoing re-certification as required. Throughout the day, you'll coordinate as needed with your manager or other departments to keep work flowing, protect the ICUL System's reputation, and close the loop on open items before signing off.
