Position Title: Van Driver - Chester Children's Chorus Work Type: Part time Location: Swarthmore College Approved Location Type: On Campus Department: Chester Children's Chorus Work Shift: Day Shift (United States of America) The Opportunity: The Van Driver will provide reliable transportation between Chester and Swarthmore for children who take part in the Chester Children's Chorus program. Essential Responsibilities: Tasks performed include ensuring the safety of passengers, accounting for all children at pick-up and drop-off points, assuring children’s orderly behavior, and enforcing all motor vehicle safety laws. Additional Responsibilities: Drivers may be asked to drive for special concerts or appearances. Required Qualifications: Qualified candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Experience, skills and interest in working with children is essential. Must be able to work independently and make mature decisions in unanticipated situations. Must have a valid driver's license and pass criminal, child abuse, and driving background checks. Must be at least 25 years old to meet insurance requirements of rental agencies. Preferred Qualifications: Van driving experience not essential, but it is preferred. Act 153 Clearance Required by Position This position may regularly interact with minors. Under Pennsylvania Child Protective Services Law, (23 Pa. Cons. Stat. §§6301, et seq.) employees who have direct contact with minors are required to obtain the following background clearances prior to the start of employment: • Pennsylvania Access to Criminal History (PATCH) through the Pennsylvania State Police • Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (PACA) through the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services • FBI Criminal History Background Check (FBI Fingerprint). MVR Clearance Required by Position Due to operating a College owned motor vehicle while performing essential job responsibilities for this position, a motor vehicle report (MVR) clearance is required prior to the start of employment.
