We are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic School-Based Special Education Teacher to join our team in Aurora Public Schools. Job Description: Strides Therapy is partnering with Aurora Public Schools to find a dedicated and driven special education teacher to support their growing team of highly skilled teachers/ service providers. As a Special Educator (Exceptional Student Educator) at Strides Therapy & Educational Services, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational journey of students with diverse learning needs. Collaborating closely with a team of fellow Special Educators (Exceptional Student Educators), your primary responsibility will be to provide tailored support to enhance students' communication and language development within educational settings. Additional Details: Expected Hours: 7.5 hours per day; 37.5 hours per week Workplace Setting: In-person school (Jewel Elementary School, Autism special education classroom) • Strides Therapy is partnering with Aurora Public Schools to find a dedicated special education teacher to support one of their elementary Autism-based classrooms. The district will also consider a BCBA for this position. Responsibilities: • Individualized Instruction: Develop and implement customized instructional plans to meet the unique needs of each student, focusing on communication and language skills. • Collaborative Teamwork: Work collaboratively with other Special Educators (Exceptional Student Educators) and educational professionals to ensure a cohesive support system for students. • Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess students' progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed to promote growth and achievement. • Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with students, families, and school staff to facilitate student success and address any concerns or challenges. • Professional Development: Stay current with best practices and research in special education to continuously enhance your skills and knowledge. Qualifications: • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field. • Valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license with Special Education endorsement • District will also consider a BCBA: active Board Certified Behavior Analyst certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB), with the applicable Colorado CDE Special Services authorization • BCBA certification: Active Board Certified Behavior Analyst certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). • Experience working with students with diverse learning needs. • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team. • Dedication to ongoing professional growth and development in the field of special education.
