We are partnering with a growing global organization to identify a Service Desk Technician to join its expanding Technology team in the Chicago western suburbs. This role will serve as a key first point of contact for employees requiring technical assistance across hardware, software, Microsoft 365, mobile devices, user access, applications, and basic network connectivity. The ideal candidate is technically curious, customer-focused, and a strong communicator who enjoys solving problems and helping people. You do not need to know every technology on day one. We are looking for someone with solid technical fundamentals, strong troubleshooting instincts, and the ability to learn and grow within a broad enterprise Technology environment. Service Desk Technician Responsibilities: • Serve as a first point of contact for Technology incidents and service requests. • Provide support through phone, email, chat, remote assistance, and ticketing systems. • Troubleshoot desktops, laptops, mobile devices, software, peripherals, applications, and connectivity issues. • Log, prioritize, manage, and resolve support tickets. • Perform initial diagnosis and escalate more complex issues appropriately. • Configure and deploy desktops, laptops, tablets, and mobile devices. • Support Microsoft Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Office applications. • Assist with passwords, user accounts, access requests, onboarding, and offboarding. • Support Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID requests. • Install and troubleshoot business applications. • Assist with software updates, endpoint security, and device compliance. • Troubleshoot basic TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, wireless, and network-connectivity issues. • Document troubleshooting procedures and recurring solutions. • Maintain knowledge-base documentation. • Communicate clearly with users and provide timely updates. • Collaborate with Technology teams across multiple global regions. Service Desk Technician Requirements: • 0 to 2 years of Service Desk, Help Desk, Desktop Support, or related technical experience. • Basic Windows 10/11 support experience. • Familiarity with Microsoft 365. • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability. • Strong customer-service mindset. • Excellent verbal and written communication. • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users. • Familiarity with Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, networking, ticketing systems, Intune, or Autopilot is highly valued. • CompTIA A+ or ITIL Foundation certification is a plus. • Associate's or bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred. Equivalent technical experience will also be considered.
