Full description

The AWS Data Center Availability Serviceability team works with hundreds of AWS data centers globally to deliver the highest quality and lowest cost availability, capacity, and scaling results for our customers. We standardize operations globally by delivering tools, policy, processes, and procedures to our internal teams. Serviceability is the ability to maintain, repair, and manage infrastructure assets efficiently throughout their lifecycle -- encompassing maintenance standards, spares management, training and certifications, operational readiness, and the systematic use of data and automation to prevent disruptions and drive continuous improvement. We are seeking a Technical Program Manager to support serviceability for liquid cooling infrastructure in AWS data centers. Liquid cooling is a new and fast-growing technology that supports the next generation of high-density compute, including AI and machine learning workloads. This role will define how liquid-cooled equipment is maintained, serviced and kept ready to operate as we scale from early deployments to a global fleet. What you will do: You will support the serviceability program for liquid cooling across the AWS fleet. You will write and maintain preventive maintenance (PM) guidelines for liquid cooling components, such as coolant distribution, heat exchange and fluid management systems. You will build these guidelines with Operations, Data Center Engineering Operations (DCEO) and equipment vendors. You will partner with Finance on labor analyses that turn maintenance needs into staffing plans. You will work with Field Engineering to lead root cause analyses on maintenance and equipment findings, and you will make sure the lessons feed back into PM standards and procedures. You will work with Operations and site teams to build operational readiness plans for new liquid-cooled sites, then track readiness so every site is ready to operate safely and reliably from day one. You will also run field trials and stakeholder workshops to check procedures, collect feedback and drive continuous improvement. Key job responsibilities Own the execution and success metrics for liquid cooling serviceability across the global fleet Write and maintain PM guidelines for liquid cooling components, working with Operations, DCEO and vendors Conduct labor analyses with Finance to support annual and long-range staffing plans Lead root cause analyses with Field Engineering on maintenance and equipment findings, and drive corrective actions into standards Build operational readiness plans with Operations and site teams, and track readiness as new sites deploy Run field trials and stakeholder workshops to validate procedures and collect operational feedback Build mechanisms that keep serviceability standards current as the fleet grows and new equipment and vendors are introduced Use data and metrics to measure program health, prioritize effort and report progress Write narratives (one to six pages) and present to Director-level leadership Travel up to 10–15% Basic qualifications - Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent - 3+ years of technical product or program management experience - 3+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience - Experience managing serviceability/maintenance programs Preferred qualifications - Experience working with data center engineering teams - Knowledge of data center infrastructure design, operations, or delivery Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.
