Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Lab Technician II. This role is located out of Raleigh, NC. The expected annual salary range for this role is $56000 - $83000 a year. The Lead Validation Engineering Technician is an exciting role providing technical support for engineering teams in the development of new Eaton power system products and accessories. This role will support 3-phase UPS ( Uninterrupted Power Supplies) products typically utilized in commercial data centers and institutions. ## What you’ll do: \- Install equipment & instrumentation for use in evaluation of power systems products \- Perform product testing to industry standards \- Use computer-based test equipment for recording and analysis of test data \- Organize test data and prepare test reports \- Fabricate, modify and repair electronic assemblies and related hardware \- Test lab maintenance and organization ## Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution • Minimum three (3 years) experience in an engineering or technical role. • Willing to work in a high-power lab test environment. (600vac, 1K DC). • Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. Preferred Qualifications: * Associates degree in Electrical/Electronics related degree from an accredited institution * Experience with low voltage electrical systems. * Minimum three (3) years of experience with electrical power systems, batteries, UPS systems, industrial controls, or a related engineering/technical role. * Understanding of electronic circuit theory and troubleshooting. * Experience with component parametric evaluation. * Use of electronic test instrumentation. * Experience with setup and test for product certifications. * Electromechanical prototype fabrication experience. * PCBA rework, modification and soldering techniques. * Knowledge of basic electricity * Collaborative orientation. * Previous experience/knowledge with UPS and/or power electronic products. * Previous Coursework in power electronics . * Lab experience around high voltage where safety awareness is critical. * Must possess effective and verbal communications skills. * Must possess good organizational and prioritization skills to maintain and address multiple assigned projects and expectations All positions may require participation in video and in-person interviews as part of the hiring process.
