Overview The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a clinical staff position at the outpatient Medical Oncology Clinic HOPD, with emphasis on the delivery of direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). The LPN provides clinic-related nursing care and nursing support to achieve the organization's mission of excellent patient care and nursing's vision of setting a new standard of excellence in autonomous and accountable nursing practice committed to patient advocacy and innovative patient care in a climate of trust and collaboration. Qualifications • Graduation from an approved practical nursing program. • Current, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license. • Demonstrates willingness and ability to maintain clinical competency as required by the department. • IV certification required or ability to obtain. • Will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose. • One year of ambulatory care or hospital experience preferred. Licensure/Certification/Registration • Current LPN License. • IV certification required or ability to obtain. Motor Vehicle Operator Designation • Not required to operate a vehicle for an assigned business purpose. • A frequent driver is defined as an employee who uses their personal or Shands automobile: • At least once daily; or • At least five individual trips per week; or • Drives an average of more than 150 miles per week in the performance of their job. • The appropriate operator designation should be indicated on the Request for Personnel (RFP) form when the position is submitted for posting.
