Senior Accounting Manager | Virginia | Hybrid I'm working exclusively with a growing, privately held insurance business in Northern Virginia that is looking to appoint a Senior Accounting Manager into a newly created position. This is a key hire within a close-knit finance team, working directly alongside the Controller and taking ownership of day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting and team oversight. The role will suit someone looking to step into a genuine number two position, with the opportunity to influence processes, develop the team and provide broader leadership across the finance function. What they're looking for: 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibility. Strong technical accounting, financial reporting and month-end close experience. Insurance industry experience, ideally within a brokerage or agency environment. Exposure to commission accounting, carrier reconciliations and insurance revenue recognition would be advantageous. Public accounting and audit experience, alongside a CPA, would be well received. Although those coming directly from Insurance, would also be considered strong candidates. The opportunity: Newly created senior leadership position with clear scope to make an impact. Direct partnership with the Controller and responsibility for providing cover in their absence. Opportunity to improve processes, strengthen controls and help shape the accounting function.
