Description About the Position Title: CNC Machinist Location: Beachwood OH. (clean, climate-controlled facility) Shift: 7:00am - 3:30pm Pay: Weekly Pay & Overtime Eligibility The CNC Machinist is a core production role. You'll set up and run 2-axis and 3-axis CNC turning machines, hold tight tolerances, and own quality at the source. This isn't a button-pushing job, it requires a machinist who reads prints, makes confident setup decisions, and takes pride in every part that comes off the machine. Responsibilities • Operate 2-axis and 3-axis CNC turning machines for daily production runs • Read and interpret technical blueprints and GD&T callouts • Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools • Perform first article and in-process inspections; identify and correct defects or out-of-tolerance conditions • De-burr and finish parts to meet quality standards • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment • Communicate proactively with production, quality, and engineering on setup status and quality concerns Who You Are • A machinist who takes ownership: you don't wait to be told when something is off • Detail-oriented and consistent; you hold your own work to a high standard • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, precision environment where tolerances matter • Reliable and punctual; you show up on time, ready to work, and you stay productive throughout your shift • You keep moving forward; when one job is done, you're already setting up the next • A clear communicator who works well across a shop floor team What You Bring • 3-5+ years of hands-on CNC lathe operation • Proficiency with 3-axis CNC turning machines • Skilled use of precision measuring tools, calipers, micrometers, bore gauges • Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and engineering drawings • Working knowledge of surface footage, feed rates, and feeds/speeds calculations • Experience with Haas CNC machinery (preferred) • Familiarity with AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality standards and first article / in-process inspection processes (preferred) • CNC milling experience (a plus) What Success Looks Like • Parts consistently meet print requirements on the first inspection • You identify quality issues before they move downstream • You're a reliable, communicative presence on the production floor About Helix Linear Helix Linear Technologies designs and manufactures high-precision motion control systems for medical device, advanced industrial automation, aerospace & defense industries — where performance and reliability down to ±0.0001 inches make all the difference.
