Full description

Description Summary Performs financial analysis, modeling, and reporting for the Finance team across one or more functional areas — reporting, financial planning and analysis, projects, or treasury and balance-sheet management — building and maintaining the financial and member (deposit and loan) data, models, and standard reports that support forecasting, budgeting, and decision-making. Works independently within established frameworks, handles moderately complex and non-routine requests with general guidance, and begins to contribute process improvements. Essential Functions: • Build and maintain financial models and forecasts — including budget and forecast, profitability, and pricing — using validated financial, deposit, and loan data, to support organizational decision-making. • Prepare and analyze management, ALCO, and liquidity reporting, including budget-to-actual results; investigate variances and identify likely drivers such as mix shift, timing, or rate change. • Administer the loan analytics platform and other reporting and forecasting tools, including data extraction from the mortgage servicing and collections systems. • Maintain historical loss data and the CECL framework, including supporting documentation. • Support call report, FASB, and other regulatory and compliance reporting. • Improve reporting and forecasting processes, including automating recurring outputs and moving manual reconciliations toward real time. • Coordinate with department and cost-center owners to gather inputs and validate results; complete moderately complex ad hoc analysis and finance projects with general guidance. • Follow policies, procedures, and internal controls; recognize, escalate, and help resolve exceptions; perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Experience • Minimum 2–4 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, or a related analytical role; experience in a financial institution preferred, prior credit union experience a plus. Education • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field; equivalent, directly relevant professional work experience may be substituted for education. Knowledge • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). • Thorough understanding of core finance concepts, including net present value, internal rate of return, and discounted cash flow. • Working knowledge of procedural controls and data-validation techniques. • Understands how own work supports team and departmental objectives; recognizes the impact of quality, timeliness, and decisions on stakeholders and outcomes. • Knowledge of credit union products and services, features, and benefits. Skills/Abilities • Applies working knowledge of key tools and processes to complete work accurately and reliably, while beginning to handle more complex situations and seeking guidance when needed. • Demonstrates a consistent service mindset and understands how this role's output affects the member experience; adheres to compliance requirements and escalates risk when necessary. • Applies analytical thinking to solve a range of problems, using judgment within established frameworks; evaluates information, identifies options, and recommends solutions; communicates effectively with stakeholders to align on expectations. • Advanced spreadsheet skills; experience with data query and management tools, including SQL. • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills; able to explain financial concepts clearly and work independently to meet deadlines. • Works independently on assigned responsibilities with general guidance; prioritizes work and resolves routine to moderately complex issues; seeks input for higher-risk or ambiguous situations. Physical Requirements/Work Environment • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. • Normal office environment.
