Description Industrial Maintenance Technician – Electrical Controls Shift: Wednesday - Friday and every other Saturday 4pm - 4:30am Wage Range: $32/r - $40/hr, plus shift differential At Sweet Candy Company, our mission is to Make Life Sweet. As an Industrial Maintenance Technician, you’ll keep all our production equipment running, with a focus on the electrical controls and automation behind it. We’re one of the oldest family-owned candy companies in the U.S., making taffy, chocolate sticks, cinnamon bears, and other favorites. What You’ll Do • Troubleshoot and repair electrical controls and automation: PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo drives, sensors, relays, contactors, and safety circuits • Diagnose problems that cross systems: electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic • Read and work from schematics, wiring diagrams, ladder logic, and one-lines • Maintain and repair motors, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, bearings, belts, and chains • Install, modify, and wire control panels and production equipment • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance, and document work in our maintenance system • Find root causes and recommend improvements that reduce downtime • Partner with production, quality, sanitation, and leadership to keep lines running • Follow all safety, LOTO, NFPA 70E, GMP, and food safety requirements Requirements What We’re Looking For Required Qualifications • 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing, with a strong electrical and controls background • Hands-on PLC and I/O troubleshooting (online monitoring, reading logic, tracing faults) • Experience with VFDs, motor controls, and 480V three-phase power • Working mechanical skills: power transmission, pneumatics, and hydraulics • Able to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings • Strong commitment to safety and compliance • Clear communicator and team player in a multicultural workplace • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Preferred • Allen-Bradley (Studio 5000/RSLogix) or Siemens PLC experience • Food or other regulated manufacturing experience • CMMS experience and predictive maintenance tools (thermography, vibration analysis) • Arc-flash, NFPA 70E, or LOTO training • Welding/fabrication or a technical degree or certificate in industrial maintenance or automation Why Join Sweet Candy Sweet Candy offers a competitive total rewards package, including: • Health insurance starting the 1st of the month after hire • Domestic partner health coverage • Paid vacation • Up to 40 hours per year of paid Life Happens Time • 10 paid holidays • Bonus program • 401(k) with 3% company contribution plus up to an additional 3% match • Tuition sponsorship and tuition assistance • Shift differential • Professional development opportunities • Supplemental insurance benefits • Employee product discounts and giveaways Equal Opportunity and Accommodations The qualifications listed above are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the job successfully.
