Community Home Loan Originator (NOLA) Department: Home Loan Origination - NOLA Role Type: Individual Contributor Why This Role Matters The Community Home Loan Originator – NOLA is the single point of contact for the member or potential borrowers through the home loan process establishing an exceptional member experience. They will proactively solicit new residential home loans that meet established loan quality and production goals while helping members or potential borrowers find the loan that best fits their financial needs. What You’ll Do • Build and maintain a recurring pipeline of member, community, and referral relationships that generate new mortgage lending opportunities. • Cultivate partnerships with real estate professionals, builders, contractors, financial planners, nonprofits, community groups, and Financial Health Centers. • Guide members and prospective borrowers through the home loan process as a trusted single point of contact. • Match borrowers with residential home loan solutions that align with their financial needs and long-term goals. • Analyze financial and credit information to support responsible lending decisions and a smooth approval process. • Manage loan pipelines effectively to ensure timely funding, clear communication, and follow-through on commitments. • Promote product awareness, regulatory compliance, and responsible debt management across member and stakeholder interactions. Experience: Required • 2 years of sales in Residential Loan Lending or related field with a general knowledge of mortgages, basic mortgage calculations and definitions, mortgage underwriting and equity loans Preferred • Underwriting experience Skills & Knowledge: Required • Professional appearance and conduct • Strong time management and reliability, including arriving on time to work and meetings, completing tasks within required timeframes, and planning, prioritizing, and self-managing effectively • Independent and creative problem-solving skills • Strong sense of urgency and ownership • Customer-service oriented and member-centric • Detail-oriented and organized • Team player who works well with others • Ability to contribute to a positive team environment and high morale • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook • Active listening skills • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Supportive of Credit Human leadership and management • Ability to advocate for improvements by sharing ideas and providing suggestions to enhance processes, member experience, and organizational effectiveness • Highly motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset Preferred • Bilingual Education: Required • High School diploma or equivalent Preferred • 4-year college degree Licenses & Certifications: Required • Requires eligibility to be registered as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) with the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) and Registry Preferred • NMLS registered Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 am-5:30 pm Compensation Details: Paygrade: 2CA The expected pay range for this position is $57,607– $80,000 annually based on the commission package.
