Career Readiness & Professional Development • Design, schedule, and facilitate engaging career-readiness workshops aligned with program timelines, participant needs, and sector-specific hiring expectations. • Lead Resume Café, Interview Preparation Week, Labor Market Week, mock interviews, and other structured professional development activities; assess learning and adjust instruction based on participant progress. • Provide individualized coaching in resume and cover-letter writing, job-search strategy, applications, interviewing, professional communication, networking, and workplace etiquette. • Help participants articulate transferable skills, certifications, training accomplishments, and internship or paid work experience (PWE) to prospective employers. • Build understanding of relevant career pathways, including healthcare and other sectoral occupations, entry-level job requirements, advancement opportunities, and realistic workplace expectations. • Identify gaps in job readiness early and coordinate tailored interventions with instructors, case management, and program leadership. Job Matching, Placement & Participant Engagement • Conduct and document employment-readiness assessments with participants and graduates, including career interests, skills, credentials, availability, work preferences, and barriers to placement. • Maintain an active, prioritized caseload and individualized employment action plans with clear next steps and follow-up dates. • Match participants to appropriate internships, PWE assignments, interviews, recruitment events, and job openings sourced through the Employer Engagement pipeline. • Coordinate referrals, candidate submissions, interview scheduling, interview preparation, and timely communication of outcomes; ensure participants understand each stage of the process. • Follow up proactively on applications, interviews, offers, placement starts, and unsuccessful referrals; use feedback to improve candidate readiness and matching. • Provide continued job-search assistance to graduates who have not yet secured employment, and coordinate warm handoffs to retention staff once participants are employed. • Work with case management and other program staff to identify and respond to transportation, scheduling, documentation, and other barriers that affect participation or employment. • Conduct site visits and participate in employer-facing activities as coordinated with the Director, supporting participant readiness and placement success without independently assuming responsibility for employer partnership strategy. Cross-Functional Coordination & Employer Feedback • Partner with the Director of Employer Engagement to understand employer requirements, open positions, hiring timelines, and candidate feedback. • Collaborate with Program Directors, instructors, case management, intake/enrollment, and retention staff to align career readiness and referrals with participant milestones. • Share recurring readiness gaps, referral barriers, and hiring trends with the Director to inform training adjustments and employer engagement priorities. • Represent Phipps Neighborhoods professionally at recruitment events, employer interviews, placement sites, and community or program partner meetings as assigned. Documentation, Compliance & Performance Management • Enter accurate, complete, and timely records of coaching sessions, workshops, attendance, assessments, referrals, interviews, placements, and employment follow-up in Salesforce and DYCD PTS, as applicable. • Maintain organized participant-level records and supporting documentation in accordance with program, funder, confidentiality, and data-quality requirements. • Monitor caseload and placement pipeline activity, identify stalled referrals or disengaged participants, and implement timely re-engagement or corrective follow-up. • Provide regular updates and reports to the Director on readiness participation, active job seekers, referrals, interviews, job offers, verified placements, barriers, and outstanding follow-up. • Contribute to established program and contractual employment outcomes; meet individual activity and placement benchmarks as assigned by leadership and consistent with funder requirements. Performance Expectations • Career-readiness activities are delivered on schedule and supported by documented participant engagement and progress. • Every active job seeker has a current employment-readiness assessment, documented next steps, and consistent follow-up. • Qualified candidates are referred promptly to appropriate opportunities, and interview and placement outcomes are tracked through resolution. • Participant service and outcome data are entered accurately within organizational deadlines; reports are complete and actionable. • Placement challenges and participant barriers are escalated early, with coordinated action and clear ownership of follow-up. Qualifications • Minimum two years of relevant experience in workforce development, job placement, career services, career coaching, adult education, youth development, or related work. • Demonstrated experience facilitating engaging workshops and providing one-on-one career-readiness and employment coaching. • Ability to assess job readiness, manage multiple participant referrals, and maintain consistent follow-through in a performance-driven program. • Strong interpersonal communication, presentation, organizational, documentation, and relationship-building skills; ability to work effectively with diverse young adult and adult learners. • Familiarity with employer hiring processes, labor-market information, and workforce career pathways; healthcare or other sectoral workforce experience preferred. • Experience with Salesforce, DYCD PTS, or comparable participant-tracking systems preferred. • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent relevant experience considered. • Ability to travel throughout New York City for program activities, recruitment events, and site visits. Salary: $55,000 - $58,000 commensurate to skillset, experience, and education.
