Job Description Summary/Objective This internship will provide hands-on experience in various finance and accounting functions, including financial reporting, forecasting, business unit analysis, return on investment, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger maintenance. **This internship position sits in our corporate office in Jacksonville, FL** Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. • Suggest improvements for finance and accounting processes to increase efficiency and accuracy. • Assist in monthly or quarterly closing activities by ensuring accounts are up-to-date. • The interns will understand first-hand what a career with Superior is like and have the opportunity to build a cross-functional professional network. • Interns will have an opportunity to gain a broad understanding of its function and importance to the business. • Intern will work closely with the Finance and Accounting team to support day-to-day operations and gain exposure to best practices in our financial processes. • Additional tasks or projects to learn more about accounting and office operations Other • Team-oriented and able to work collaboratively. Supervisory Requirements This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment This job operates in a clerical, office setting. The incumbent regularly sits for long periods of time at a desk in front of a computer screen. The employee occasionally may be required to lift, push, pull, or carry objects. Required Education and Experience • Working towards a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business or related disciplines. Preferred Education and Experience • Working knowledge of MS Office software • Strong academic performance with extracurricular activities • Strong desire to learn along with professional drive. • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. • Strong organization and prioritization skills Additional Eligibility Requirements • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver’s license before employment. • Must have reliable transportation.
