You'll work alongside a collaborative team of engineers and drafters, take ownership of mechanical subsystems, and transform customer requirements into innovative, functional solutions that support critical missions.
If you enjoy hands-on problem-solving, complex 3D modeling, and seeing your engineering designs come to life, we'd love to meet you!
Key Responsibilities:
• Work alongside a small team of engineers and drafters creating customized mobile mission systems for a variety of clients in the defense and aerospace industry.
• Using Autodesk Inventor, model mission systems, workstation layouts, and fixturing for mobile office platforms and containerized solutions.
• Employ DfMA concepts to create cross-platform components to be re-used across a multitude of projects.
• Identify, verify, and track requirements generated internally or by customers, ensuring compliance with final engineering deliverables and documentation.
• Carry ownership of subsystem architecture and assembly designs of varying complexity for integration into future mission systems.
• Create and manage top-level assemblies representing the functional delivered product using Autodesk Inventor.
• Conduct drawing reviews in support of configuration management, controlling model revisions within Autodesk Vault.
• Participate in activities across a broad engineering domain, collaborating with other engineers and industry professionals on mechanical packaging and hardware validation.
• Work collaboratively and cooperatively in a team environment, solving problems and producing deliverables driven by customer needs and program-specific requirements.
• Interpret and digest customer constraints in support of future contracts, communicating intended fit, form, and function with relevant stakeholders alongside business development and program management colleagues.
Required Qualifications:
• A Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Demonstrated professional experience with Autodesk Inventor (or equivalent software) for 3D component modeling.
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and schematics.
• US citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
• Ability and willingness to travel between 5% and 10% for customer visits, integration support, or on-site technical reviews.
• Familiarity with MS Office suite.
• Strong communication and writing skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Active DOD Secret Security Clearance.
• Demonstrated experience with large-format Inventor assemblies.
• Familiarity with Design-for-Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA) concepts.
• 3+ years of professional engineering experience, ideally within defense, aerospace, or a high-reliability industrial sector.
