Position Overview The Physical Therapist is responsible for planning and providing physical therapy treatment for patients in accordance with professional and West Cancer Center standards of treatment. Key Responsibilities • Perform initial patient assessments • Implement patient treatments based on assessment and written plan • Provide ongoing patient assessment through observation of the patient and review of records • Identify patient-specific physical therapy rehabilitation learning needs and provide appropriate education • Demonstrate initiative in identifying opportunities for self-development and enhancement of professional competency • May provide guidance and direction to therapy assistants Qualifications Education & Experience Required: • Graduate from a school of Physical Therapy accredited by CAPTE Preferred: • Oncology experience Credential/Licensure Required: • Licensed as a Physical Therapist in the state where work is performed Knowledge, Skills & Abilities • Ability to understand and prepare moderately complex written materials, such as patient records • Ability to communicate verbally with associates, physicians, and other outside professionals • Ability to work without close supervision and exercise independent judgment • Ability to organize multiple tasks and projects and maintain control of workflow • Ability to assess patient needs, develop and implement treatment plans, and re-evaluate physical therapy needs Work Environment & Physical Demands • Physical activities may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion • Must have good balance and coordination • Medium work requiring exertion of up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently • Close visual acuity, including color, depth perception, and field of vision, is required for activities such as assessing patients, preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading • Frequent invasive and non-invasive patient contact • Exposure to patient body fluids as well as hazardous or poisonous materials • Ability to react quickly to emergency situations Why West Cancer Center is a Great Place to Work • Meaningful Impact: Play a direct role in supporting patients through one of the most challenging times of their lives. • Collaborative Culture: Work alongside a multidisciplinary team of dedicated professionals committed to improving cancer care. • Professional Development: Benefit from ongoing training, educational resources, and growth opportunities. • Mission-Driven Environment: Be part of an organization guided by compassion, integrity, and innovation.
