Position Summary As a Part-Time PACU Registered Nurse, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients recovering from surgical procedures. This role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent assessment skills, and the ability to respond effectively in a fast-paced environment. Working closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary team members, you will help ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate care throughout the recovery process while supporting positive patient outcomes and experiences. Key Responsibilities • Perform patient assessments and document findings accurately and timely. • Prepare patients for surgical procedures according to established clinical standards and hospital policies. • Monitor patients during the immediate post-anesthesia recovery period. • Assess, manage, and communicate changes in patient condition. • Administer medications and treatments safely and effectively. • Provide patient and family education regarding procedures, recovery expectations, and discharge instructions. • Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record. • Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and clinical staff to coordinate patient care. • Respond appropriately to emergency situations utilizing ACLS, PALS, and established clinical protocols. • Support hospital quality, safety, and infection prevention initiatives. Qualifications Required • Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for licensure. • Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within the required timeframe. • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills. • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities. Preferred • PACU, ICU, Emergency Department, Critical Care, or Same Day Surgery experience. • ACLS certification. • PALS certification. • Experience utilizing electronic medical record systems.
