The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. Job Overview: In collaboration with the anesthesiologist/CRNA, the anesthesia technician will function as a member of the team to organize and administer individualized age specific care to patients in the surgical suite and across the perioperative division. Qualifications: Required: • Graduated from an accredited program in Anesthesia Technology, or a suitable combination of education and 2 years of experience. • Maintenance of BLS Healthcare Provider Course completion status required. Preferred: • Successful completion of all orientation and departmental programs, and competencies with documentation required. • Additional experience/training may be required based on departmental specific needs. Additional certifications may be required Certifications and Licenses Required : • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required. Scheduling Requirements : • Full-Time • Days Essential Functions: • The anesthesia technician will coordinate and provide technical support to the providers of anesthesia in the operating room. • Assist with the educational development of learners within the anesthesia department. • Assist with patient care, and maintain and ensure availability of supplies and equipment. • Anticipates the anesthesia providers needs when a case deviates from the normal and is able to provide a smooth transition. • Maintains and cleans equipment including cleaning and disinfection of TEE probes. • Maintains and cleans anesthesia machines. Prepares and calibrates anesthesia machines prior to start of surgery. • Stocks anesthesia carts and orders supplies as indicated. • Assists the anesthesia provider during patient induction and intubation.
