Job Title: Clinician Location: NPC PLAZA BLDG Department Name: Invol Op Commit Program Req #: 0000268142 Status: Hourly Shift: Day Pay Range: $29.39 - $36.09 per hour Pay Transparency: The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. At RWJBarnabas Health, our behavioral health support teams operate at the heart of a compassionate, multidisciplinary environment dedicated to transforming the patient experience. Joining our team means becoming part of a premier academic healthcare network that values teamwork, excellence, and a shared commitment to delivering high-quality, safe clinical services across our communities. We are seeking a dedicated Clinician to provide essential case management, supervision, and resource coordination within our specialized behavioral health services. This role supports individuals with severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI) who are navigating structured treatment and management plans. If you are an empathetic advocate eager to combine field outreach with multi-agency collaboration, we invite you to build a rewarding career with us. A Typical Day As a Clinician, a typical day might include the following: • Comprehensive Case Management: Managing a dedicated caseload of individuals with severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI), reviewing treatment needs, and helping clients navigate ongoing therapy and medication workflows. • Community & Home Outreach: Providing active in-home outreach, conducting safety follow-ups, and delivering immediate outreach to clients who have missed their scheduled clinical appointments. • Linkage & Social Service Triage: Screening new clients for concrete social service needs, including financial, housing, legal, and transportation assistance, utilizing structured WRAP plans to secure wrap-around community resources. • Court Coordination & Compliance Tracking: Functioning as a primary liaison with legal courts, monitoring client program attendance, preparing detailed progress reports, and advising authorities of non-adherence in a timely, compliant manner. • Patient Navigation & Transportation: Orienting new clients, scheduling initial treatment appointments, and directly providing safe transportation for patients to social services, medical appointments, and stable housing facilities. • Multidisciplinary & Family Collaboration: Partnering with families, friends, and regional hospital programs, alongside external agencies such as child welfare, vocational rehabilitation, and outpatient providers to build a strong post-acute discharge support network. This Role Might Be For You If: • You are deeply passionate about providing structured, supportive, and non-judgmental community guidance to vulnerable individuals navigating chronic psychiatric challenges. • You excel under pressure, maintain an exceptional professional demeanor, and possess strong motivational interviewing skills to engage verbally defensive or hesitant clients. • You take operational pride in documentation excellence, ensuring statistical logs, legal progress updates, and crisis intervention outcomes are thoroughly recorded. • You are a high-energy, detail-oriented collaborator who enjoys a fluid split between desk administration and hands-on, community-based field outreach. • You believe that true behavioral recovery, community stabilization, and client autonomy are optimized and strengthened through structured vigilance, patience, and deep empathy. To Be Considered: • Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (B.A./B.S.) in Psychology, Sociology, Behavioral Health, or a closely related human services field from an accredited institution is strictly required. • Experience: A minimum of one to two (1–2) years of foundational experience providing direct case management, safety monitoring, or care coordination to the SPMI population is strictly required. Prior familiarity with motivational interviewing techniques is highly preferred. • Licensure: Must possess and maintain a valid state Driver’s License in good standing to safely operate hospital and outreach vehicles. • Language Assets: Bilingual fluency in Spanish or French Creole is highly desirable and will receive immediate priority review for our diverse regional hubs.
