A typical day for a Special Procedures Technologists may include: • Assist Radiologist with special examinations. • Demonstrate competency with the use of RIS and PACS. • Demonstrates competency in the use and sequencing of the power injection • Employ professional judgment and discretion while performing all imaging procedures. • Maintain adequate stock levels in all procedure rooms. • Maintain clean examination rooms and work environment in all areas. • Performs diversified duties required f or the completion of special procedure examinations. • Report all equipment problems to the supervisor and enter an LT work order as appropriate. • Use RadCode for interventional billing related to the section modality specific procedures • Utilize principles of radiation protection for self and patients for every examination. • Utilize proper positioning and technical factors to assure diagnostic quality images for interpretation. • Utilizes all components of the RIS Mammography Module for entering new and follow-up patient information.
