Med 4 offers nurses the opportunity to develop strong assessment skills while caring for a diverse patient population with low to moderate acuity. Neurology/Renal & Urology: 4200 Hall Details: • Beds: 18 • Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 6:1 4300 Unit Details: • Beds: 18 • Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 6:1 Patient Population Common diagnoses include: • Stroke and transient ischemic attacks (TIA) • Seizure disorders and altered mental status • Acute and chronic kidney disease • Electrolyte imbalances • Urinary tract infections and urinary retention • Kidney stones and hydronephrosis • Post-urologic procedure patients Clinical Skills & Experience Nurses on Med 4 frequently care for patients with: • Foley catheters • Nephrostomy tubes • Continuous bladder irrigation (CBI) • Dialysis access devices • Enteral feeding tubes • Telemetry monitoring This unit provides valuable experience in neurological assessments, stroke protocols, fluid and electrolyte management, renal medication monitoring, and multidisciplinary care coordination with nephrology and urology specialists. Qualifications Education • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN) Licensure • Current RN license in the hiring state or compact licensure Certifications • BLS required • ACLS required or obtained within 90 days of hire Why Mercy?
