Nurse Residency Available: Mercy Springfield offers a year-long Nurse Residency Program tailored to the specialty area in which each nurse is hired. All graduate nurses participate in the program, along with select experienced nurses based on their individual experience and professional development needs. Position Details: Accepting experienced RNs or Fall 2026 Graduate Nurses. Not accepting Spring 2027 Graduate Nurses at this time. (5B) is a 32-bed unit. This unit consists of various GYN surgical procedures, Men and Women bariatric weight loss surgical procedures, colon resections and other minor colon surgeries, and general medical patients. Additional patients served include various GYN conditions, GYN/Oncology, Obstetrical Complications, Mother/Baby Couplets, post-partum Nurse to patient ratios is 1:5-6 and PCA to patient ratios 1:6-8. All staff work 12-hour shifts, 0630 to 1900 and 1830 to 0700, which includes alternating weekends and holidays.
