LOCUM TENENS OPTOMETRIST (1099) $160–$170/Hour ATC Healthcare Northwest is seeking a qualified Locum Tenens Optometrist for a 13-week assignment at correctional healthcare facilities in Madras and Ontario, Oregon. Locum Tenens Optometrist Job Details • Position: Locum Tenens Optometrist • Pay: $160–$170 per hour • Assignment Duration: 13 weeks • Location: Madras and Ontario, Oregon • This position can be part-time or full-time, depending on the location • Work Setting: Correctional Healthcare Facilities • Other details TBD Locum Tenens Optometrist Responsibilities • Perform comprehensive eye examinations and vision screenings. • Diagnose and manage common eye conditions and diseases. • Prescribe corrective lenses and medications as appropriate and within the scope of licensure. • Develop treatment plans and recommend appropriate follow-up care. • Maintain accurate and timely patient records. • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support continuity of care. • Educate patients on eye health, vision correction, and preventive care. • Follow applicable clinical standards, facility protocols, and professional practice requirements. Locum Tenens Optometrist Qualifications • Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry program. • Active Oregon optometry license or ability to obtain the required license before the assignment begins. • Previous clinical optometry experience required. • Correctional healthcare experience preferred but not required. • Strong clinical assessment, communication, and documentation skills. • Ability to work independently in a structured correctional healthcare environment.
