Job Title: Senior Epic Willow Consultant (Level III)
Location: Remote
Duration: 3 months
Summary:
The client is seeking a seasoned and versatile Senior Epic Willow Consultant (Level III) with deep expertise spanning both Willow Inpatient (IP) and Ambulatory (AMB) pharmacy modules (or heavy primary IP expertise). As a key member of our healthcare technology consulting practice, you will lead complex implementations, cross-continuum medication management optimizations, and digital transformations for major healthcare systems. We are looking for an expert who can independently drive end-to-end design, mentor junior team members, and partner with executive pharmacy leadership to maximize their Epic investment.
Key Responsibilities:
•
Implementation & Optimization Strategy: Lead the end-to-end design, complex build, testing, and deployment of Epic Willow IP and AMB workflows, ensuring seamless medication continuity across the inpatient and outpatient care continuum.
•
Clinical & Operational Collaboration: Engage directly with directors of pharmacy, clinical pharmacists, and medical staff to align system architecture with regulatory standards, inventory management goals, and advanced patient safety initiatives.
•
Complex Problem Solving: Troubleshoot high-complexity system issues, analyze intricate medication reconciliation or dispensing bottlenecks, and architect scalable solutions tailored to complex health networks.
•
Quality Assurance & Upgrades: Oversee comprehensive testing cycles, validation protocols, and integrated upgrade paths for pharmacy systems and automated dispensing cabinet (ADC) integrations.
•
Leadership & Knowledge Transfer: Act as a senior subject matter expert, guiding client stakeholders, leading design decisions, and providing mentorship to junior analysts.
Qualifications:
•
Minimum of 5 to 7 years of hands-on configuration and implementation experience with Epic Willow.
•
Current, active Epic Willow Certification (Dual IP and AMB certification strongly preferred; robust primary Willow IP expertise required if single-module).
•
Proven track record of delivering major Epic implementations, optimization, or upgrade lifecycles within large hospital networks, integrated delivery networks (IDNs), or complex health systems.
•
Comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy operations, 340B compliance, medication safety standards, and pharmacy automation/interoperability.
