Job Summary • Screens patient and obtains pertinent information. • Assists physician or advanced practitioner during patient visit in accordance with age specific needs. • Assists the physician or advanced practitioner in all aspects of patient care and communication as instructed. • Maintains the exam rooms and work environment. • Provides support to the clinic as needed. Qualifications Education • High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited program in Medical Assistant Training or equivalent experience required. Experience • Prefer at least one year experience in a clinical or physician-office setting, emergency room and/or a hospital setting that provides patient care. • Prefer medical office, insurance, referral and prior authorization, hospital or computer experience. • Experience in office clerical activities desirable. (Above requirements can be met by equivalent combination of education and experience) Licensure/Certification • Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care. • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained for duration of employment. • CMA or RMA preferred.
