Full description

Are you an experienced ER or Specialty Veterinarian looking for the next step in your career? This well-established specialty and emergency veterinary hospital in Chattanooga, TN, is seeking an experienced doctor looking to lead an exceptional team as their next Medical Director. This is a rare opportunity to combine hands-on clinical practice with meaningful leadership in a hospital known for delivering exceptional patient care and fostering a collaborative, growth-driven culture. As the Medical Director, you’ll take the lead in guiding a team of experienced emergency and specialty veterinarians. Working closely with a skilled administrative team—including a Hospital Administrator and Clinical Director—you’ll help set the hospital’s strategic direction while maintaining a strong clinical presence on the floor for three to four days a week. Your role will include mentoring colleagues, developing compliance protocols, leading team meetings, and shaping the medical and operational standards that define the practice. This hospital has an excellent reputation in the Chattanooga community, widely recognized for its high standard of care, as reflected in hundreds of five-star reviews. The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art tools, including onsite CT, ultrasound, endoscopy, advanced surgical suites, oxygen cages, transfusion capabilities, and 24/7 critical care monitoring. The ideal candidate will be a board-certified or residency-trained emergency and critical care veterinarian with previous leadership experience. A strong foundation in emergency medicine, diagnostics, and intensive care is key, along with the drive to mentor others and cultivate a positive, team-oriented environment. This opportunity comes with a highly competitive compensation package, including a base salary of up to $250,000 (plus production), a $50,000 sign-on bonus, $10,000 relocation assistance, and eligibility for annual performance bonuses. Additional benefits include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance; a 401(k) with company match; paid parental leave; generous PTO; a CE allowance of $3,500 plus dedicated CE days; and full coverage of licensing fees.
