Job Title Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Women's Care Location Peoria, IL | Acute Care Schedule / Job Type Contract | Night Shift | 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Expected 4 weekend shifts per schedule period | Holiday rotation required Key Responsibilities • Provide direct patient care on an 18-bed Medical Surgical Women's Care unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–6 • Care for patients with diagnoses including hysterectomy, mastectomy, postpartum (mothers only), and general medical/surgical conditions • Perform and manage NG tube placement, Foley catheter placement, and blood administration • Titrate drips including heparin and insulin; manage set-rate drips as required • Float to other general medical units as needed based on staffing requirements • Operate RT equipment including CPAP; monitor patients with cardiac monitors as assigned (strip reading not required) Required Qualifications • Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated) • BLS certification required • ACLS certification required • Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience • Demonstrated experience with NG placement, Foley placement, blood administration, and heparin and insulin drips • Must be able to pass a drug screen; facility maintains a drug-free campus policy • Candidates with a permanent address within 50 miles of the facility may be subject to a local pay rate Preferred Experience / Skills • Experience caring for postpartum patients or women's health populations • Familiarity with CPAP and related respiratory therapy equipment • Experience working alongside patient care technicians in a team-based care model Why Join Us • Work on a well-supported unit with charge nurse coverage and PCT support on every shift • No on-call or standby requirements, offering a more predictable schedule for travel clinicians
