Job Title Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Float Pool) Location Boston, MA | Inpatient Schedule / Job Type Contract | Rotating Shifts (Days, Evenings, Nights) | Every other weekend and holidays required | No on-call required Key Responsibilities • Provide direct patient care across up to 15 medical surgical units within a large inpatient float pool setting, supporting specialties including neurology, cardiac, bariatric, general medicine, general surgery, GYN/GU, hips and joints, oncology, transplant (liver and kidney), and vascular • Perform unit-specific procedures including 12-lead EKGs, Lasix drip management, blood transfusions, and telemetry monitoring • Administer nebulizer treatments; respiratory therapists manage ventilators • Maintain patient ratios averaging 4:1 on days and up to 6:1 on nights • Adapt to a rotating schedule consisting of a combination of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts, with unit assignments that may be provided as close as 2 hours before shift start • Document and navigate patient records using Epic EMR Required Qualifications • Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license required at time of submission • Minimum 3 years of related RN work experience • Prior travel nursing experience required • CPR certification – American Heart Association (AHA) required • ACLS certification – American Heart Association (AHA) required • Level I trauma experience required • Epic EMR experience required • Local candidates are welcome to apply Preferred Experience / Skills • Experience in a teaching hospital setting • Specialty area expertise in one or more of the supported service lines (e.g., neurology, oncology, transplant, cardiac, or surgical) • Comfort navigating web-based clinical applications Why Join Us • Opportunity to gain broad clinical exposure across 15 diverse medical surgical units within a large, 600-bed inpatient facility • Expected 72 hours biweekly, with no on-call obligation included in those hours; public transportation is accessible to the facility
