Job Title Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Float Pool) Location Boston, MA | Inpatient – Medical Surgical Float Pool Schedule / Job Type Contract | Rotating Days/Evenings/Nights | Every Other Weekend Required | Combination of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts | Holidays Required Key Responsibilities • Float across up to 15 medical surgical units within a large inpatient facility, supporting specialties including neurology, cardiac, bariatric, general medicine, general surgery, GYN/GU, orthopedics, oncology, transplant (liver and kidney), and vascular • Maintain patient ratios averaging 4:1 on days and up to 6:1 on nights • Perform unit-specific procedures including 12-lead EKGs, Lasix drip management, blood transfusions, and telemetry monitoring • Administer nebulizer treatments; collaborate with Respiratory Therapy for ventilator management • Adapt to unit assignments that may be provided as few as 2 hours before shift start • Document and navigate clinical workflows using Epic EMR Required Qualifications • Active Massachusetts RN License required at time of submission • Minimum 3 years of related registered nursing experience • Prior travel nursing experience required • CPR – American Heart Association (AHA) certification required • ACLS – American Heart Association (AHA) certification required • Level I trauma experience required • Epic EMR experience required • Local candidates are welcome Preferred Experience / Skills • Experience in a teaching hospital setting • Specialty area clinical expertise (neurology, cardiac, oncology, transplant, or surgical services) • Comfort navigating web-based clinical applications Why Join Us • Opportunity to gain broad clinical exposure across a 600-bed facility with 15 diverse medical surgical units covering a wide range of specialty populations • Expected 72 hours biweekly; no on-call obligation required
