Full description

Lead the program that makes every day meaningful. Providence Place Senior Living is hiring a full-time Connections Activities Coordinator for the Memory Care Neighborhoods at our Lancaster campus. You’ll lead a team of Activities Associates and build a balanced calendar of purposeful, engaging programs for residents experiencing signs of dementia — activities that keep residents active physically, mentally, and spiritually, and give them a real sense of independence and accomplishment. If you’re energetic, creative, and a natural leader, this is your role. What you’ll do • Create and lead a balanced monthly calendar of programs and events for residents with dementia • Lead, train, and coach Activities Associates — you set the tone for the whole program • Build community partnerships for volunteering, intergenerational programs, and resident-led activities • Keep residents active, mentally and physically — Dakim Brain Fitness, the Biodex exercise bike, games, music, and more • Transport and accompany residents on outings and community events in company vehicles, including our 14-passenger bus • Serve food, drinks, and snacks during activities — hospitality is part of the fun • Keep it running behind the scenes: activities software and TV calendars, volunteer information, and monthly reports • Partner with the Executive Director and every department on campus to make the program a campus-wide effort Schedule Full-time, 8:30am–5:00pm, plus one evening 10:30am–7:00pm. Must be able to work every other weekend and every other holiday. What you bring • High school diploma or GED • Prior experience working with residents with dementia and in activities programming • Prior experience planning activities for seniors • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and no major violations (you’ll drive residents on outings) • Energetic, personable, enthusiastic, creative, and imaginative — a natural leader who motivates residents and co-workers alike • Strong organizational skills — you can juggle a calendar, a team, and a dozen details at once • A great communicator and listener, with effective spoken and written language skills • Understanding of the physical and emotional aspects of aging • Self-motivating and comfortable with computers (you’ll use our activities software) • Comfortable on your feet and able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs • College degree in recreation or therapeutic recreation, Activity Director Certification, or previous management experience — a plus, but not required Pay & benefits $18.00/hour, plus full-time benefits: outstanding health insurance, dental, and vision, 401(k) with employer match, PTO, your birthday as a holiday, and more. About Providence Place Family-owned since 1998, Providence Place treats residents the way we’d want our own grandparents treated — and we develop our coworkers the same way. Come make someone’s day, every day. EOE Other1
