Opportunity Highlights: • Location: Michigan • Facility Type: Hospital • Specialty: Gastroenterology • Coverage: Inpatient and outpatient • Assignment: Ongoing supplemental locum tenens coverage • Schedule Flexibility: Multiple coverage blocks available throughout 2027 • Responsibilities include procedures, hospital rounding, outpatient coverage, and call • Providers who can cover complete requested blocks are preferred 2027 Coverage Dates: • March 28 at 7:00 AM – April 5 at 7:00 AM • July 26 at 7:00 AM – August 1 at 7:00 AM • August 28 at 7:00 AM – September 1 at 7:00 AM • September 27 at 7:00 AM – October 1 at 7:00 AM • November 24 at 7:00 AM – November 27 at 7:00 AM • Ongoing coverage need Call Requirements: • Beeper call • On call during the entire assignment • 20-minute response time • Approximately 2–4 phone consults • Weekend call required • Overnight call coverage required • Call coverage for scheduled and unassigned patients Required Gastroenterology Skills & Procedures: • Upper GI endoscopy and biopsy • Foreign body removal • Fulguration of bleeders • Injection of varices • Diagnostic and therapeutic ERCP • PEG/PEG-J tube placement • Esophageal dilation • Esophageal manometry and interpretation • Small bowel biopsy • Lower GI endoscopy • Flexible and rigid sigmoidoscopy • Colonoscopy and biopsy • Polypectomy • Liver biopsy • Sengstaken/Blakemore tube management • pH studies • Capsule endoscopy • Hydrogen breath testing • EUS preferred Charting/EMR Systems: • Cerner • Athena • Paragon • EndoPro Vaccine Requirements: Most recent required.
