This opening is for an Emergency Room Registered Nurse in Salem, VA, at a 500+ bed acute care hospital with specialized programs in heart and vascular care, orthopedics and spine care, behavioral health, and cancer care. The emergency department serves patients across the full acuity spectrum, from minor injuries to critically ill presentations. The role. Working in a fast-paced emergency department, the RN will triage, assess, and treat patients of all ages while continuously prioritizing care based on acuity levels across the unit. The nurse manages multiple cases simultaneously, coordinating with physicians and other hospital departments to ensure patient safety at every step. Collaboration with patients, families, and the broader care team is central to developing effective follow-up plans and facilitating appropriate referrals. Timely, succinct, and accurate documentation in accordance with organizational policy is an ongoing expectation of the position. What we're looking for. • Diploma or Associates Degree from a professional nursing program (required) • BSN or current enrollment in a BSN program at an accredited school of Nursing (preferred) • Current licensure as an RN in the state of Virginia or current multi-state compact RN license with eligibility to practice in VA is required • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider (required) • Will consider 1 yr of RN ER in an acute care setting • Will consider Med Surg candidates to cross train — nights shift only Schedule. Full-time position with availability across days, nights, evenings, and mixed shifts, including rotating weekends. Compensation. $32.33 - $48.50/hr plus Sign-on bonus available
