Mechanical QA Inspector – Power Generation - Texas - 1099/Contract Verto People is recruiting a Mechanical QA Inspector to support site quality assurance on a power generation project. You’ll inspect mechanical equipment installations, verify compliance with specifications and work with construction teams to resolve quality issues before handover. Key responsibilities • Inspect equipment on delivery and check storage and preservation arrangements. • Verify equipment positioning, alignment and grouting against manufacturer requirements. • Inspect tank installations and witness associated testing. • Review supplier documentation and installation records. • Attend inspection hold points and provide sign-off within delegated authority. • Raise nonconformance reports and verify corrective actions through to closure. Requirements • At least seven years of mechanical inspection experience within power or process plants. • Practical experience inspecting large rotating equipment installations. • Working knowledge of ASME Section VIII and applicable API tank standards. • Confidence reviewing technical documents and maintaining accurate inspection records. • A relevant technical qualification or equivalent field experience. Previous owner-side inspection experience, OSHA 30 and familiarity with digital construction documentation tools would be advantageous.
