Job Title Travel RN – Medical Oncology Location Tallahassee, FL | Acute Care Schedule / Job Type Contract | Days | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Expected 36 hours/week | Every other weekend as needed Key Responsibilities • Provide direct patient care on a 33-bed Medical Oncology unit with a 1:6 patient ratio • Conduct hourly rounding on day shift and every two hours after 9:00 PM to support patient experience standards • Utilize electronic documentation via Meditech, electronic white boards, and iPhones with iMobile for patient communication and coordination • Monitor patients via remote telemetry and respond appropriately to changes in condition • Collaborate with CNAs, unit secretaries, Charge RN, Clinical Manager, and Director as part of an interdisciplinary care team • Float to other units as needed per facility policy — travelers are first to float Required Qualifications • Active RN license valid in the state of Florida (or compact eligibility) • BLS certification required • Prior experience in Medical Oncology or Medical-Surgical nursing • Strong patient-first attitude and commitment to compassionate, high-quality care Preferred Experience / Skills • Specialty certification in Med-Surg, Palliative Care, or ONS (Oncology Nursing Society) • Experience with inpatient oncology care and familiarity with chemotherapy administration protocols • Previous experience with Meditech documentation system • ONS chemotherapy training (note: inpatient chemo administration is performed by core nursing staff with ONS chemo training) Why Join Us • Work within a recognized, award-winning Medical-Surgical unit at a facility designated as a Hospital of the Future, with frequent pilots of new technology and supplies • Join a well-supported unit with experienced staff, dedicated unit secretaries, CNA coverage, and strong clinical leadership present each shift
