Job Title Registered Nurse – CVICU Location Dayton, OH | Acute Care Schedule / Job Type Contract | Days | 4x12-Hour Shifts (7:00–19:30) | 36- or 48-hour weekly options available Key Responsibilities • Provide direct nursing care to critically ill cardiovascular patients in a 36-bed CVICU with targeted patient ratios of 1:2 • Manage and monitor patients post cardiac surgery (directly and not directly from the OR), pre/post cardiac cath/intervention, and those on Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz and thermodilution PA cath monitoring • Operate and manage Impella devices as part of advanced cardiovascular care • Administer and titrate drips, manage ventilators, A-Lines, sheaths, and dialysis; draw and interpret ABGs • Read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips and EKG/telemetry; document all care accurately using Epic EMR • Float within specialty clusters or to nearby campus locations as directed, and be available to work every other weekend and holiday Required Qualifications • Minimum 1 year of dedicated CVICU experience required • Experience with Impella, post cardiac surgery care, pre/post cardiac cath/intervention, PA Line/Swan Ganz monitoring, and thermodilution PA cath monitoring • BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required • Must be able to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips; must pass an online EKG/dysrhythmia competency assessment prior to starting • Epic EMR experience required • Any active state RN license or compact license accepted for submission; Ohio license not required at time of signing • Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible Preferred Experience / Skills • Level 1 Trauma experience preferred • Prior travel nursing experience preferred • Comfort with floating to other units or nearby campuses based on census and skill set Why Join Us • First-time travelers are welcome to apply for this assignment • 36- or 48-hour contract options available, with overtime potentially available after 48 hours for those on 48-hour contracts
