Full description
Director of Operations – Build Something That Matters
What if you had the opportunity to build a manufacturing division from the ground up inside a global industry leader?
A multi-billion-dollar global industrial electrical component manufacturer is making a major investment in U.S. manufacturing operations and launching a new division focused on low-voltage cable production — from thermoplastic products to thermoset wire drawing operations. (Relocation is available) (potential locations – TX, IL, GA, NC)
This is not a maintenance role.
This is a builder’s role.
We are looking for a hands-on operational leader who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments and wants the rare opportunity to shape a business, build a culture, develop a leadership team, and drive operational excellence from day one.
If you’ve ever wanted the autonomy of a startup backed by the strength, stability, and global reach of an established international organization — this is that opportunity.
Why This Role is Different
• Ground-floor leadership role in a newly forming U.S. manufacturing division
• Opportunity to help scale a business projected to become a $500M division within 5 years
• Build the operation, systems, culture, and leadership structure
• Strategic visibility and partnership with executive leadership
• Backed by a global $1B+ manufacturer with strong investment and long-term commitment
• Lead expansion initiatives in automation, operational excellence, and Industry 4.0
You won’t inherit someone else’s playbook.
You’ll create it.
What You’ll Do
As the operational leader, you will:
• Build and lead manufacturing operations across production, engineering, and process functions
• Drive quality, reliability, and consistent product delivery
• Develop KPIs, operational strategy, and scalable manufacturing systems
• Champion lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
• Lead automation and Industry 4.0 implementation efforts
• Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing leadership team
• Establish operational standards focused on safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction
• Partner closely with executive leadership on long-term strategic growth
This role requires someone who can think strategically while remaining deeply connected to the factory floor and daily execution.
What We’re Looking For
We want a leader who is:
• Hands-on and execution-focused
• Comfortable building teams and processes from scratch
• Experienced in manufacturing leadership environments
• Passionate about operational excellence and continuous improvement
• Skilled in lean manufacturing, automation, and quality systems
• Able to inspire teams while holding high standards
• Energized by challenge, ambiguity, and growth
Experience in wire & cable, electrical components, industrial manufacturing, plastics, thermoset/thermoplastic operations, or related manufacturing environments is highly valued.
The Opportunity
This is more than a job.
It’s a chance to leave your fingerprint on a growing business and build something meaningful inside a globally respected organization.
Salary is open for the right person – $150-200K is starting range. Full benefits, 401K, Relocation available
If the idea of building a division, shaping a culture, hiring your leadership team, and driving the future of U.S. manufacturing excites you — we should talk.
